The San Gennaro Feast - Island Park, NY

Every year in the beginning of September, the church in my town hosts the Feast of San Gennaro. It is a 4-day long event that includes rides, games and plenty of delicious food. My best memories of going to the feast every year always include a large bag filled with powder sugar coated zeppoles! If I ever had a food weakness, it just might be the zeppoles from the San Gennaro Feast!

This year at the feast I stuck to the basics (Sausage & Peppers Hero and Zeppoles) and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Carmine chose a chicken parmigiana hero and my dad opted for the eggplant parmigiana hero. Both looked delicious, but nothing could have possibly beaten out my sausage and peppers.

The night was topped off with my victory in the balloon darts game. I won a dog stuffed animal!

If you are ever in the area during September, I highly suggest making a visit to the San Gennaro Feast. You are sure to enjoy plenty of good food and have a great time!

  1. Thanks for your post. I’ve been thinking about writing a very comparable post over the last couple of weeks, I’ll probably keep it short and sweet and link to this instead if thats cool. Thanks. Outdoor Long Island
